Biking around the Northeast can be fun during the month of March because we naturally have a humid continental climate. Last year I went out cycling around Burlington and I passed by this store called S.D Ireland which is a local concrete company. They made not only everything alive with music and color but there were costumes and people having fun around making it a memorable feast. What’s really amusing was this parade of honking cement mixers while pipe music was playing.
Later that day the Ireland dancers gathered on the street and started doing step dancing. It was a great sight to see especially because it was composed of performers ages 18 to 60. The green, gold and black stand out. The fun thing about having a bike is the fact that you can just squeeze and park anywhere. I felt radical. There were kids beside me who also brought their bike and it was a great feeling knowing that one has that childlike freedom to go and push those pedals anywhere.
I think last year was memorable and this year’s St Paddy’s day is filled with anticipation. Everyone is really into it!
