This is a much better product than the first one I bought. The top and bottom spread out to accommodate my iPhone. It’s spring loaded so the ends pull back in to grip the phone and it has a toggle on the back to lock the jaws in place. Very well made and secure. The only thing I don’t like is all the rubber shims that take up space for the different size bars you may clamp it around but that’s small potatoes compared to the rubber bands which hold the phone that could break on the other brand.

I was pleasantly surprised about the size and decent quality. I was worried this would be too big and bulky and cheap quality. However, it is a smaller footprint than I thought, which is just what we wanted, and the quality seems decent. I would not over-tighten the main plastic nut on the back, but it secures well. It is versatile enough to fit our odd-shaped handlebars, and it allows our phones to align straight forward versus being at some odd angle.

My wife and I just moved to a new house and bought a couple of Aventon ebikes to take advantage of the bike trails in our area. I use the Komoot iPhone app to see where to go. Having this holder is awesome for the Komoot turn-by-turn directions. The only negative is how hard it is to lock and unlock the phone in the holder… not so much how much pressure you must exert but where the little red lock is on the back… it seems like it would be better to be a little higher up near the top. Otherwise, it has been a great addition to my bike!

This holder did a great job during a recent 120-mile bicycle trip. The instructions were clear, and installation was reasonably quick and easy. The locking mechanism works well, but if you fail to engage the lock after you place your phone in the holder, you won’t realize it until your phone bounces onto the pavement (as mine did). I wish there were a front-facing indicator of the lock position – I’m not sure that’s available on any competitive product, but if I were going through the selection process again, I’d look for an easy-to-see lock indicator.

Secure hold with removeable rubber pads for custom fit conforming to the diameter of the handlebar you wish to install on. Spring loaded. Opens up four corners then closes firmly around the device. Lock on the back is easy and extra secure. Black matches most bikes. Would have preferred the ability to clamp it on to handlebar from either side of the mount. It was awkward to turn the clamp underneath the bars with very little clearance above the fuel tank and wiring. Once mounted though, this thing rocks!

The thing is a PIA to mount, because things that will hold onto a bicycle or motorcycle are sturdy and don’t come off. The tradeoff is exact. It does exactly what it’s supposed to, I didn’t lose my iPhone Mini manualing and hopping curbs on my Mtn bike. I almost never use it, but *when* I need to use my phone or a device on my bike, I use this thing. It works perfectly and as advertised in every single detail, including the ‘lock’ being hard to switch. It’s got to be that way. A reasonably intelligent stone will see this as soon as they use it. Perfect discount 5-star Amazon item.

Bought this after buying and returning a cheaper model at my local bike shop. Glad I got this. It’s a great phone holder. Does the job even across really rough roads and trails.I only wish the bed the phone sits in had a depression for the camera lenses. As it is, the phone sits in the cradle crooked and doesn’t feel like it’s totally sitting in the cradle. To even up the holder, I’m using one of the extra bar pads that came with the holder. I place it between the bed and the phone. That causes the holder to hold the phone more snugly. Problem is, I’ve lost two of the three pads….I like that I can firm up the pivot ball tight enough so the bed sits still, but still loose enough that I can adjust it while riding. I also appreciate the locking mechanism underneath. Nice touch!

I originally left a 1-star review because on a bike ride my iPhone 6s came out of the holder when hitting a bad bump. However, I have to correct that review. I now believe that I failed to fully engage the lock switch underneath the holder at some point during the ride. With the lock fully engaged I cannot cause the iPhone to pop out even on much worse bumps. I’ve tried over and over again, and the iPhone stays put. When you’re wearing gloves it’s harder to feel and it’s possible to push the switch but not fully engage it. You have to pay attention and make sure it’s FULLY engaged and that the holder cannot open.I can’t really blame the manufacturer for this. So my revised review is 4 stars. It’s not 5 because I’m still not very happy with the way it mounts to the handlebars. At the tightest point where I can still fold over the latch, there’s some slippage during riding. I prefer a metal clamp with screws. But the holder does hold the phone so long as the lock is fully engaged.I should also note that the manufacturer immediately contacted me regarding my 1 star review offering a refund and a replacement. That’s what made me take a 2nd look at the holder and fully test it rather than just throwing it away. They will stand behind this product.

I’ve installed this on my eBike that goes about 50mph, which will work depending on the size of your phone. It should work if you have a large case, but if you have a thin or taller smartphone, depending on the brand/model, it may have gaps on the bottom edges. Again, it depends on the profile of the phone and the case you have on it as there are slim to bulky impact resistant cases. The holder and how it mounts to the handlebar is solid. It hasn’t moved at all. But the clamping of this design either fits or does not. OnePlus 7T with a medium-sized case fits tightly and hasn’t had an issue. In contrast, if I placed my OnePlus 9 Pro with a thin case, I have a little over 0.5″ gap that I had my phone pop out when I went over a large bump the other day. It’s an older phone so I didn’t care it got scratched but be aware it “may” not work for all phones. The clamping design should have an independent opening ratio as not all phones have similar size ratios, which causes large gaps if you have a tall smartphone. But with that said, if you have a phone that fits, it works amazingly well. If it doesn’t fit, know you’ll have issues with your smartphone possibly falling. It’s probably not something you’d want riding a motorcycle. What would help is a secondary silicone strap like some mounts have, which would alleviate that issue.
