The Kryptonite Evolution Mini-7 U-Lock features a 13 mm hardened max performance steel shackle with a double deadbolt anti-rotation design that resists bolt cutters and twisting leverage attacks. The lock’s disc-style cylinder with center keyway is protected by a vinyl coating and is pick and drill resistant. The keyway also features a sliding dust cover to protect the cylinder from dirt and debris when not in use. It includes three stainless steel keys with an ergonomic design to reduce torque and keep them from bending or breaking. One of the keys has an LED key fob for added visibility in the dark. Rated at a 7 / 10 on our security scale, the Evolution Mini-7 is good for quick stops on college campuses, a couple of hours in major metropolitan areas, and all day & overnight in suburbs and rural areas. These feel super robust. The shackle is pretty small so it can be a little tricky to lock these anywhere, but with the wire the reach is not a problem though you lose a lot of safety.Value for price is crazy…Lock picking lawyer seem to respect kryptonyte so I do too ????

I have bought two of these bike locks. The bike did get stolen but it wasnโt the fault of the lock. The thief cut through the iron fence I had the bike locked to, and took the lock with them. So itโs definitely effective. My only complaint is that the lock mount that came with the lock didnโt include any instructions. So I wasnโt certain what that extra part was FOR. Until I saw a lock happily mounted to the bike when NOT in use. I thought the extra part was to prevent scratches when it was LOCKED up. So I threw the parts awayโฆtwice. Donโt be me.

Compared to most other less expensive locks that I’ve had, this Kryptonite Evolution appears to be better crafted, has a much heavier crossbar, the cylinder engages the shackle at both ends, the keying system feels more like a real lock, and it seems to be robust. Overall, these are impressive qualities that I do appreciate and they make me feel better about locking in high crime areas. However, there are some issues: the 13mm shackle is really not much heavier than most other locks, the shackle is a little too short for many real-world applications, the keying is sticky, and the bracket mount needs improvement. For a lock at this price, these issues are a little disappointing. I guess I can live with the 13mm shackle with the understanding that it’s a trade-off for lighter carrying weight. The shorter shackle is a bigger issue. Another inch would make it so much easier to lock in many situations. The keying can be frustrating to engage, but maybe it’s just the individual lock that I purchased. The thing that I dislike most is the bracket mount. It’s complicated to install. Once installed it’s even harder to reinstall in a different location if you need to after you’ve trimmed the band. The bracket’s bulky shape just doesn’t look that great when mounted. Also on the issue of aesthetics. the color of the lock itself is a brighter orange than it looks to be on most web photos. Perhaps this was a marketing decision for brand identity. A more neutral color would look so much better on most bikes.

The lock is nice and it is good combo. I ordered it for my e bike. Unfortunately the shackle length/diameter was small and it was not extended up to the stand to lock my bike. So I have to return it. It would have been great it it come with a standard u lock not the mini one.Overall i like the lock although it was suitable for my bike.

I have had so many bikes stolen in the years. I absolutely love this bike lock. The only thing is you have to make sure to fully turn the key all the way around or the lock will not open. ???? I found this out the hard way. I recommend this 100%.

This bad boy will keep your bike locked up as long as the thief doesn’t have a grinder and 10 minutes. Metal is thick and hefty, same as the included cable. The lock itself is next to impossible to pick if you’ve seen LockPickingLawyer’s video about it. No regrets and see you in a couple of years when I tell you about the entire bicycle rack getting stolen to get passed this U-Lock.

Haven’t used a lot yet but quality seems improved. Key is still an issue. Key can be reluctant to turn sometime but always does. I’ve found making sure the key is completely inserted helps.

Antes de nada, decir que me han enviado una unidad claramente usada previamente. Probablemente alguien que lo ha probado un par de veces y lo ha devuelto por cualquier motivo.El producto en sรญ es bueno, tenรฉis miles de reviews en Youtube. Las dimensiones interiores son 18 cm de alto y 9 cm de ancho. Las dimensiones totales son 24 cm de alto y 15 cm de anchoSolo hay dos maneras de romper la seguridad de este candado con herramientas convencionales y portรกtiles: con una radial o forzando la cerradura (algo que estรก fuera del alcance del ladrรณn medio segรบn el experto LockPickingLawyer). Kryptonite lo valora con una seguridad de 7/10 pero es muy dependiente del sitio en el que dejeis vuestro vehรญculo y el tiempo que vaya a quedar desatendido. En las ciudades mรกs grandes, en pleno centro, este candado se antoja insuficiente por si solo (aรฑadirรญa un candado de disco con alarma).Personalmente lo uso para un patinete cuando no puedo entrar en algunos locales. El candado entra justo como para anclar el vehรญculo a postes de un grosor medio (seรฑales de trรกfico por ejemplo). Las llaves entran de aquella manera. Segรบn pude ver en los comentarios, hay que tener especial cuidado a la hora de bloquear y desbloquear.El cable es duro, es mejor que la mayorรญa de otros cables pero ni me molestarรญa en ponerlo en una bicicleta para atar una rueda; si alguien quiere llevรกrsela lo harรก sin demasiado esfuerzo. Es mucho mejor meterle otro candado en U, aunque sea de peor calidad.El soporte no lo he probado pero no tiene pinta de ser demasiado fiable: lo sostiene una lengueta de plรกstico relativamente pequeรฑa. Estoy convencido de que con el tiempo acabarรก cayendo. El candado es lo suficientemente pequeรฑo como para llevarlo incluso en una mochila pequeรฑa, asi que no es un inconveniente tan grande.EDIT: he podido probar el soporte y ha aguantado una pequeรฑa ruta en tierra. Hay que tener en cuenta que en un patinete elรฉctrico las fuerzas ejercidas sobre el soporte son mayores al ir enganchado al mรกstil (y por lo tanto, a todo lo que estรฉ soportando la suspensiรณn delantera), asรญ que a priori parece que aguanta, no se ha movido del sitio. Una opciรณn mรกs segura serรญa llevar la U en el soporte y el cierre en algรบn bolsillo o mochila. Seguirรฉ editando si ocurre cualquier cosa.Este Mini 7 es un candado perfecto para el dรญa a dรญa, especialmente si no vivรญs en ciudades enormes con un alto grado de delincuencia. ยฟHay alternativas? Kryptonite tiene una cadena de 50 cm de largo por algo mรกs de dinero. Ofrece algo mรกs de flexibilidad a la hora de atar el vehรญculo y dificulta un poco la labor de la radial de un ladrรณn, pero tambiรฉn pesa unos 500 g mรกs. Para vehรญculos que superen los 1000โฌ irรญa directamente a por un Litelok X1. Son 160โฌ pero es el candado mรกs portรกtil y barato que resiste radiales.

Seul 2 petits bรฉmols, le U aurait รฉtรฉ un poil plus long, รงa serait plus facile d’attacher vรฉlo contre les garages ร vรฉlos des magasins;Le systรจme qui permet de fixer l’antivol sur le cadre du vรฉlo n’est pas compatible avec les Rockrider 340. Mais ce n’est pas bien grave, il se loge parfaitement sous la selle.
