Though it seems hard to believe, biking is still totally feasible even when the temperature gets really so hot that the heat scorches your skin.
Take a look at these other forms of transportation:
- Walking. This is a physical activity that requires more sweat but less breeze per mile.
- Metro. This also requires physical effort, and a lot more when escalators are not working. It also requires you to wait in a not-so good environment. This experience lets you pay something around $4.
- Bus. This will give you almost the same experience as in Metro, however you will be required to wait under direct sunlight and chase the bus at some times. If you’re not lucky enough, you could experience running too hard to catch the bus and ending up left behind.
- Car. You could get to your destination real quickly with this one, however, you will be helpless once you are caught in a heavy traffic; and you may need to park about ¾ mile away from where you’re supposed to go. So basically, you are walking halfway to get there.
On the other hand, biking lets you feel the cool and fresh breeze as you ride around the town, parking just outside your destination, and getting to your destination less sweaty and icky than you can imagine. That actually sounds ideal! And not to mention, you are getting an exercise at the same time!
So do not hesitate to go on biking through the summer. Just make sure you stay hydrated!
